Dare Not Question PRIDE

Pride is supposed to be about celebrating Liberty. On the surface, it’s a march for celebrating the right to marry, and to live openly in society without being harassed or looked down upon for being gay. That’s all great, in fact, I think we should have more celebrations of liberty and openness in this country.

However, that’s not what the Pride March is turning into. As of late, the real meaning of the day has been largely forgotten, and instead overcome with hedonism and public humiliation. The Pride March has become little more than a sexual fetish march for modern political leftists.

In fact, because of the way that LGBTQ people have been victimized by our media and culture, anyone who falls under that banner (especially trans people) have become absolutely untouchable. This doesn’t just mean that you can’t harass or attack them, it means any criticism or disagreement with them at all will get you labeled as a homophobe, or worse, a transphobe.

Take Lindsey Shepard as an example. This once-assistant college professor came to fame in late 2017 after losing her job because she dared to show 18-year old adult college students clips from a debate between psychology professor Jordan Peterson and transgender studies professor Nicholas Matte, among others. The debate was broadcast on Canadian cable news, and I trust that you, like most adults, are intelligent enough to handle the conversation.

Since her firing, she’s been creating thoughtful video content on YouTube about various subjects. However, on July 17th, she put out a short 5-minute video stating that she had been permanently suspended (banned) from Twitter. Her crime? It must have been something really awful, like harassing someone, making death threats, causing trouble. Right?

Well, as it turns out, her only crime was defending herself from insults by a trans person. Her appeal to Twitter was quickly denied and now she is considering alternative platforms, which will dramatically shrink her reach.

The subject, which she refers to as “JY”, has had a number of alleged Facebook messages leaked where he talks about wanting to “bond” with other women in the bathroom by asking for tampons, and seems to have a great interest in what real women (many of them minors) do in the bathroom. One message disturbingly talks about teaching 10-year old girls how to use feminine products.

“If she wants a tampon though, should i give her one and instruct her on how to use it?”

JY also sent a series of quite mean tweets to Lindsey, suggesting that she has a loose you-know-what after giving birth to a “10-pound baby”. Lindsey responded by calling him a “ugly, fat man.”

You can watch the video embedded earlier for more detail, but the point I’m trying to make isn’t about people getting into Twitter arguments, it’s to illustrate the fact that you cannot dare criticize, defend yourself from, or otherwise disagree with a trans person in our society, or you will be the one suffering from it. Even when those people insult you, LGBTQ people are totally untouchable, which means their behavior is untouchable.

Which brings us full circle, back to the pride parade.

Just to clarify, I have absolutely no problem with people celebrating their rights publicly or privately. I’m a huge supporter of free speech and all other rights enumerated by the constitution. Legally recognized marriage, for example, is not a right, but it’s something that I support, nonetheless.

But that’s not what the pride march is about. Not really. Not anymore, because LGBTQ people already have equal rights.

Instead, you’ll notice all kinds of really bizarre stuff that the pride march has embraced. People on chains, fully naked men dressed up in horse heads, and yes, fully naked men with their privates exposed in public, with little 5-10-year-old kids walking around.

Hold up.

You read that right. But if you don’t agree, accept, and even love the fact that little children are being exposed to highly sexualized adults with unorthodox sexual fetishes, you undoubtedly will garner that label of homophobe for yourself. You can’t just tolerate it anymore, less you wish to be considered a closeted homophobe. You have to love it.

When asked about whether or not Pride was considered a family event, most attendees will give a resounding yes.

Again, I don’t care all that much if people want to do some kind of weird sexualized event in their own private space, but Pride has become such an untouchable event that even thinking critically about the effects of showing young children soft-core versions of hard-core pornography is considered taboo. That, is not a world that I would like to live in.

In my opinion, bringing your children to an event like this is not just irresponsible parenting, but can only really be called one thing: child abuse.

Have your parade if you want, but by God, please don’t bring your kids into it. They don’t know any better, and they aren’t even at the age where they can understand what’s happening at a place like this. Just wait until they’re older and let them figure things out for themselves before showing them all of this stuff.

And, finally, don’t let yourself be silenced or “othered” out of the fear of being labeled with a now-totally meaningless word. This is America, and free expression exists for everyone, not just the politically correct.
